Mental Focus a Key to Successful Tennis

Being mentally focused and tough are keys to any successful tennis player.  Tennis is just as much a mental game as it is a physical game.  Being able to move from point to point on a focused and quality state is the key to having a successful match.

It is far too easy to get sidetracked and frustrated after hitting a poor shot or making an unforced error in the game of tennis.  The fact is that they are part of the game and will happen no matter how good a tennis player you are.  The player that can put the mistake behind them and refocus on the the match will limit runs and win more points.

Most tennis players perform to their feelings.  If they are tired, they look tired.  If they are frustrated it is obvious.  Try to keep an even keel and not alert your opponent to negative feelings.  Good opponents will look to take advantage of your actions.  If you are strong and resolute it will wear on your opponent and make them feel like there are no openings in your tennis game for them to attack.
